The Jewish Bronx - a New Talk on Zoom

From 1920-1960, "Da" Bronx was the site of one of the largest and liveliest Jewish communities in history. Through maps and other illustrations, we will explore the early Jewish settlement of this northern borough, discussing housing and neighborhood patterns, while also noting some of the best known Bronx Jews.

Your presentor for this talk is Dr. David E. Kaufman, the Founder and Director of NEW YORK JEW: Center for New York Jewish History, Culture and Community. David has authored two books, the first, a comprehensive history of early 20th - century Jewish communal life, and the other a study of American Jewish celebrity in the 1960s. He spend a decade on the faculty of the Hebrew Untion College in Los Angeles.
