  • This is an online event on Zoom (map)

Don't miss the opportunity to attend this virtual lecture, which covers the history of Jewish Harlem, discussing when it was the third largest Jewish community on the planet, from roughly 1870 until about 1930. The largest was Manhattan's Lower East Side, followed by Warsaw Poland.

Join New York Urban Historian Justin Ferate on this colorfully illustrated armchair tour – viewing important landmarks, legendary people, and famous institutions that enriched this critical, but often-forgotten segment of Jewish history.

Discover impressive reminders of Harlem’s tremendous Jewish cultural heritage.

This lecture will prove transformational and will permanently alter whatever perceptions the phrase “Jewish Harlem” might suggest.
